Today programme presenter John Humphrys was crowned the surprise winner of this year’s Celebrity Masterchef. Humphrys won over the judges with a breakfast menu that included the Director General of the BBC sliced and diced, then served on a platter.

Fans of the BBC’s popular ‘Masterchef – The Deities’ series were left reeling last night as odds-on favourite Jesus Christ fell at the last hurdle, handing victory on a plate to rank outsider Buddha.
‘It’s as if they’ve caught some kind of illness where nothing whatsoever can be described as ordinary or mundane. In fact during the final we feared that Gregg was going to spontaneously combust at one point.’
