Heroic BBC mandarins have again took scent of the national mood and in a time of enduring crisis dealt with two key enemies of the state. Robert "Mugabe" Webb and David "David Irivng" Mitchell, long proponents of ignorant hate bile from their infamous sketch show.
In the latest attempt to curtail creative licence and satire but still profit from it, the Beeb has removed several sketches from the Mitchell and Webb Look to prevent the nation clutching its pearls.
Sketches opposing black face, and jokes about oppressive female dress wear and garden centres have been edited out but to the delight of those who click "Yes I have TV licence" jokes about Princess Diana, Nazis, Vicars, the mocking of innocent estate agents, drunks and supervillians are still in.
Oxford graduate Barnaby Crumpet who somehow got a job at the BBC without any insider help explained to reporters the process of eliminating material from sketch shows, "Its pretty easy to be honest, I do feel a bit like one of Stalin's lot sometimes removing bits of art etc, but I get paid and get to say I work at the BBC so its not to bad."
The axe continues to swing.
