£46m - a Garden Bridge too far?


Following the Grenfell disaster, many wondered why the Mayor of London insisted that public money was better spent on a vanity project - rather than public services. Having told the committee of fire safety officials (in 2013) to get stuffed, Boris Johnson defended his decision to close 10 fire stations. After all, millions are better spent on aesthetic cladding, instead of a namby-pamby sprinkler system. And as a scholar of political history Mr. Johnson is a big fan of Churchill – the insurer. So, water canon anyone?
