The government has urged public sector workers to show restraint and accept a pay rise in line with their own 2.29% rise.
'We're all in this together,' pointed out one MP while tucking in to heavily subsidised meal in the House of Commons while texting his second employer a sound-bite worth £3k to him.
'My personal assistant, that is my wife, is only taking the same percentage pay rise paid out of my expenses,' he pointed out.
When asked about the inflation busting pay rises enjoyed by MPs since 2010 the MP explained he had to go and left the table immediately.
