Tennis Doubles partners going to do fist bump after every point

Tennis Doubles partners are definitely going to do a fist bump to each other after absolutely every sodding point, it has been revealed.

It doesn’t matter if they’ve just won a crucial tie break or if the ball has skewed off the edge of one of their racquets and hit a 14 year old ball girl right in the eye, they’re still going to walk towards the back of the court and give each other a little congratulatory bump of the fists, and whisper something to each other behind cupped hands, sources have confirmed.

‘It’s actually now a contractual obligation for all doubles players now to do this as if they’ve got a great team spirit and camaraderie’, noted Giles Debenture-Price, Wimbledon tournament spokesperson. ‘Even though most of the doubles pairings can’t actually stand the sight of each other’.

‘Oh, And that annoying little code thing, where the partner crouching at the net does a little signal with their fingers to indicate to the other which serve to do. They’ll definitely be doing that every point too’, said Debenture-Price.

‘That’s even though it’s total bollocks’, continued Debenture-Price. ‘Essentially, one finger means ‘serve it as hard as you can’, two means ‘come on,get on with it’ and three means ‘please don’t serve the ball into my back, it really hurt last time’.
